Cost Versus Loss To You
As a person who has started, ran, watched fail, and
participated in, small businesses, and large corporate
types of successes; it's my pleasure to tell you, they don't
change. It's nice that they don't because you need
some solids in your diet, because we all know what
happens if all you get is liquid, right?
Now those of you who are religious types,
your mind automatically goes to that place
called "milk," am I right? For
those of you who aren't particularly religious but
read this blog for entertainment or to get P.O.'d-
well; suffice it to say, you are what you eat, so it's
good that some types of business paradigms don't
change, because you need solids in your diet! It is
easy to say; that for every ENRON where the corrupt
got busted; there are plenty, that didn't, and won't.
As my heart raced and my mind struggled to get her
message, fully, it occurred to me how amazing it is
that Queen Rania of Jordan points out how costly
it is to let children not get educated. It is so simple
and yet we just don't get it.

How easy is it to get behind this idea?
As easy as it is to walk next door, or
down the hall by one door, knock and
ask "hey you're my neighbor, and I just
wanted to get to know you." What's
actually happening world wide is a way
of life that includes you and only
those who you feel comfortable knowing.
Because of this, the crimes which in
the past were held in check, are
flourishing behind a lack of community.
Crime, the ultimate declaration that a
person rejects God, crime; and yet, in
many countries, just being a person who
is Godly, is a crime! Notice I didn't say
Christian, I said, Godly; because there
actually are still some countries which
practice anti-God - period, let alone-
anti-Christian ways. Yes it's hard
for you to believe that, but this evening
as you go to the house, and close the
door, and don't know your neighbors
plight, much; realize, you aren't an
isolated person doing this, the world
is becoming a very cold and distant place.
Mat 24:12 And because iniquity shall abound,
the love of many shall wax cold.
Now for those of you who don't believe Christ
maybe you can explain how he would know this?
There wasn't anything in His agrarian village
based culture to indicate this? For those of you
who think that this has nothing to do with
business, perhaps you can explain why all
the major teachers of motivation and business
and success have now included a spiritual
paradigm in their teaching? It's time you woke
up and smelled the coffee cooking, it costs
you more to be unrealistic about the wholistic
than you have to pay- wouldn't you agree?

Gorilla's Can Be
Gorilla's can be... OK you finish the statement?
Here are some ideas:
about Gorilla's are we? Isn't it odd how when we're
at the zoo, and we're looking at the Gorilla in their
cage- that we call it their cage(?)- as if, they came
down out of the mountains, tapped the zoo keeper
on the shoulder saying; "you know freedom sucked,
and this cage here, well, it looks like just where I
want to be."
There is certainly something to be learned
about boxes, and thinking and lines and
linear thoughts- and Gorilla's who just
insist on staying in that cage. My, my,
we do define out limitations don't we?
We might want to believe that we don't,
certainly it is way more comfortable to
believe that we don't, but in the end of it,
we have usually settled somewhere in some
way, to get a result that we believed would
be "just what we needed." How often,
however, has that turned out to be the
case in your life?
Boxes can provide a sense of security,
when we don't have them, we want them;
being free thinking and creative, can be
dangerous (even), and certainly when we
are free we are at risk; so, being boxed can
become a sense of comfort. We are all
very familiar with the term comfort zone,
but what we aren't nearly as familiar with
is how to get out of that comfort zone.
Do you think Mr. Gorilla would leave

800 Pound Gorilla
Thanksgiving for America is a celebration that goes
into the national fabric of our national sense of wonder
at our nation. The world, on the other hand, often sees
this celebration as something that they
also have, but sometimes on a lesser scale,
as a celebration of when they were formed.
What the world does see, is that many times in
America, nobody there knows about the other
countries of the world and what their celebration
of forming into a nation amounts to?
Ever have a friend tell you that they were
going to come over, but they didn't? You rush
out buy some stuff to be special about the
time, and they don't show up? When they tell
you they aren't going to make it, it turns out it is
because they are, self absorbed?
How does that leave you feeling?
Empty, used, rejected; now imagine
those same sets of feelings on a global scale? Thanksgiving for
America is a sense of wonder, but that wonder doesn't reach
beyond America, and is often seen as, being self absorbed?
The 800 pound Gorilla analogy is a a useful one because when
that ugly beast is in the room, folks get very quiet, very alert,
very scared, very attentive, doubtful, anxious and watchful for
the first move of action by it. If they were discussing things
before the big beast walked in, they now do so in hushed and
anxious tones, why? Because when you are dealing with an
800 pound Gorilla, you realize, human is a frail counterpart
and if you make the Gorilla angry, who knows what's next?
The globe we live on is changing in fundamentally flawed
ways, faster than we can correct them. If American's don't
wake up and smell the coffee cooking, then the breadbasket
to the world, will have assisted in humankind's demise, and
it won't matter if it is was knowingly or unwittingly, once
we've done it, it will be done, and we're fast getting to that
point; the 800 pound Gorilla's are in the room, it's time to
get a little bit more sensitive to their presence- because if
you think a room with one Gorilla in it is a dangerous
place for a frail and tiny human, try a room with three!

May 23, 2010, talked about these three areas which
the graduates will have to deal intimately, not at a
distance, three 800 pound Gorilla's, they are now;
as never before, in one - room, earth!

Senator David Vitter For You and I. Vote Vitter - Tell Others
Ever have one of those days, where things happen that you can'texplain, but you know they are right, and you know that someone
helped you in an amazing way, but you can't exactly say how?
That mystery really grabbed hold of me today, and so I wanted
to share with you what took place. What I don't want to happen
is for some jaded individual to misinterpret what took place and
not get it; because I think you'll agree with me on this, the world
is becoming a pretty jaded place? So please take this story for
just a recounting of a remarkable effort to help someone who
otherwise gets no press on the matter, a small businessman
out here in the real world of it, trying to make our way.
We applied to do some work with the government, and we
were hoping to gain some backing from the Senator's office-
this usually can take up to two weeks, we expected some
time line like that, we asked for a shorter time line, but we
all know how Senator's have a lot going on, and, it is
getting close to election day, a couple of weeks off, so
we really didn't expect a lot would take place.
First, we wrote to the Senator's office in Shreveport
and asked if they'd help us out. We did not expect them
to immediately take action, we're not a multi-million
dollar company, we're the little guy, myself and a
couple of volunteers that we hope will someday be
able to turn into a real company. We're small is my
point, so, we didn't expect much assistance because
there really isn't much glamor in helping out a little
business. we're a little jaded too, aren't we that
we would presume such? But that's honestly how
we felt about what we were asking.
Not only did that staff in Shreveport help
us out, but they went the extra mile to obtain us
help from the Baton Rouge office, and the
Senator himself researched and wrote part of
a letter of endorsement for our efforts. Folks- we
aren't big business or big bucks, in fact, we scrap
for every dime- but to David Vitter- we meant
something, and he and his staff showed us that they
care, not just about big bucks and big time T.V.
ads, but about what's happening with us little
fellers out here in the real world busting it every day.
You can say what you want to- but that's what
happened- and in my book David Vitter and his
staff which sure indicates leadership to me, showed
us something that we won't ever forget- they showed
us that to them, we might be a small business, but they
treated us and helped us like we was worth a million
bucks. Folks in Louisiana, we need leadership like
that to stay in the fight! If you are reading this in
one of our readerships outside the state, or even
some of our international readers, please, tell your
friends or family who live in Louisiana that you
heard it first hand from a small business owner that
this Senator rolls up his sleeves and gets to work
for the little guy!

Grants - Grants and More Grants - And You!
Got The Bucks - Where Are Mine?
One of the nice things about having so many associates in
the banking industry is getting to see how India smashes
their "selfish in nature" outlook, and why. The banking
system of America underwent a huge "shot in the arm,"
bailout from the Executive branch last year, and yet
the majority of that money, according to the follow
on reports about it, didn't get to the public. In
a second effort, those funds haven't either? The
question as to why that should be- why the public
wouldn't get those funds is difficult and tied up in
miles of "red tape." What you want to do is cut through
that red tape so that you can find the answers to getting
your funds, your grants and your aide that you know
that you should be getting, am I right so far?
Why You Haven't Gotten A Grant
The number one reason most people don't get grants
is, they don't apply. It's that simple, they start the
process, get tangled up in how, and quit,

they stop,
maybe you've been down that road? The governmentis so large, that try as they might to get the goods
out there, even the best intentioned person gets
worn out fast, so what they need is someone to
cut through it, and get them their money- doesn't
that make sense? Cut through it-
cut the red TAPE!
The number two reason people
don't get grants is they don't know how to focus
in on the grant that they need. As an example,
students who need grants often get into the Pell
grant mill, recieve a small stipend from that program,
and let it go at that- you might be one of those,
or know someone like that- if so, take heart there
is a better way; if someone could show you that,
and it made great sense, and didn't cost a thing,
wouldn't that be cool? Well read on...it's cool.
Besides not applying for a grant, the other reasons
that most people don't get grants has to do with
the system for getting grants, sometimes it takes
a little doing, for example, let's say that Suzy is going
to college to study interior design, but she is not
registered as a business yet- which means that,
she isn't an L.L.C. - a simple process which doesn't
cost much, and can save her, tremendous
amounts of money- and- can bring her a ton
of benefits that as a business she can recieve that
as a student she cannot. What she needs is someone
who can guide that process and get her rolling,
doesn't that make sense?
Why You Can Get A Grant And How
In one eight hour day we can show you how to

Seeing And Planning Success By Anticipation
The essence of strategy is to know what will happen next. The strange basis of our life is that we don't. You don't know what is going to happen next, and in most instances, that is how we like it, it gives life a flavor of new. If we knew ahead of time what everything was going to be like, how bored would we get, how quickly would that happen, how unhappy would we be? One of the neat things about Chris Voss of "The Chris Voss show.com" is that he finds the latest and the up tech items and reports on them keeping us not only advised, but, challenged. So much fun so little time, so many mistakes to make- see, it is in making mistakes that we learn, and so it is in making strategy; making mistakes, is how we learn. Can you anticipate what those consequential reactions to something will be?
